GetOutGarage Advertising Policy
Effective Date: June 19, 2026
1. Policy Purpose
GoG advertising must be useful, safe, relevant, honest, and clearly commercial. This policy applies to ad copy, images, logos, uploaded creative, calls to action, destination URLs, business profiles, landing pages, offers, targeting, and any related advertiser content.
2. Approval Required
Every ad requires review and approval before serving. GoG may approve, reject, pause, remove, limit, or request changes to any ad at any time. We may re-review ads after approval if the creative, destination, business, offer, or applicable policy changes.
3. Automotive Relevance
Ads must be relevant to the GoG automotive audience. Acceptable categories generally include vehicles, parts, tools, shops, tuners, detailing, wraps, tires, wheels, insurance, transport, motorsports, clubs, events, garages, creator products, education, software, marketplaces, apparel, and services that directly support car owners, builders, enthusiasts, clubs, or event organizers.
GoG may reject ads that are too generic, unrelated to automotive use, or likely to feel out of place in an automotive community, even if the ad is otherwise legal.
4. Prohibited Content
Ads may not promote, contain, link to, or facilitate:
- Illegal products, illegal services, illegal vehicle activity, or instructions to evade law enforcement.
- Unsafe street racing, reckless driving, dangerous stunts, or conduct that encourages users to violate traffic, emissions, safety, or roadworthiness laws.
- Weapons, explosives, ammunition, firearm accessories, or instructions for making weapons or explosives.
- Tobacco, nicotine, vaping, recreational drugs, drug paraphernalia, or controlled substances.
- Adult sexual content, sexual services, nudity, escort services, or sexually explicit material.
- Hate, harassment, threats, bullying, discrimination, extremist content, graphic violence, self-harm, or shocking content.
- Counterfeit goods, stolen goods, fake documents, hacking tools, fraud tools, traffic manipulation, fake reviews, or dishonest behavior.
- Misleading financial products, get-rich-quick claims, deceptive loans, credit repair, cryptocurrency speculation, or investment promises unless specifically approved in writing.
- Gambling, sweepstakes, contests, raffles, or regulated games of chance unless specifically approved in writing and legally compliant.
- Medical, health, supplement, or body claims that are unsupported, unsafe, deceptive, or regulated in a way the advertiser has not satisfied.
- Political campaigns, political fundraising, political issue advocacy, or election-related advertising unless specifically approved in writing.
- Malware, spyware, phishing, cloaking, forced downloads, browser hijacking, or attempts to collect sensitive data deceptively.
- Content that infringes intellectual property, publicity rights, privacy rights, or contractual rights.
5. Misleading Claims
Ads must be truthful, clear, and substantiated. Ads may not make false, exaggerated, unrealistic, unverifiable, or deceptive claims about performance, horsepower, torque, fitment, safety, legality, emissions compliance, price, availability, discounts, warranties, event access, sponsorship, endorsement, or expected results.
Required limitations, conditions, expiration dates, fees, shipping costs, installation requirements, eligibility requirements, and material terms must be disclosed clearly on the ad or destination.
6. Destination URL Requirements
Ad destinations must:
- Work reliably on common mobile and desktop browsers.
- Match the product, service, business, event, or offer described in the ad.
- Clearly identify the advertiser or seller.
- Disclose pricing, material terms, refund policies, subscriptions, renewals, and shipping or installation terms where relevant.
- Use secure handling for payment, login, or personal information collection.
- Allow users to navigate back or close the page normally.
- Avoid excessive ads, popups, interstitials, redirects, download prompts, or pages built mainly to send users somewhere else.
Destinations may not change after approval in a way that makes the ad inaccurate, unsafe, less transparent, or policy-violating.
7. No Misleading UI
Ads may not imitate GoG navigation, alerts, notifications, moderation messages, system dialogs, unread badges, profile controls, verification badges, download buttons, play buttons, close buttons, forms, search fields, or other interface elements unless those elements are real, functional, and not deceptive.
8. No Fake Buttons or Forced Actions
Creative may not contain fake buttons, fake taps, fake video controls, fake sliders, fake checkboxes, fake app-store badges, fake countdowns, fake "close" icons, fake "continue" prompts, or any element intended to trick users into clicking. Calls to action must accurately describe what happens after the click.
9. Creative Quality
- Creative must be clear, legible, professional, and suitable for the selected placement.
- Images must meet required dimensions, aspect ratios, and file requirements.
- Ads may not be blurry, blank, broken, overly cropped, low quality, overly text-heavy, or visually confusing.
- Ads may not use excessive punctuation, sensational copy, profanity, misleading urgency, or bait-and-switch language.
- Logos, trademarks, and third-party marks must be used only with proper authorization.
10. Rights to Creative
Advertisers must have all rights needed to upload and use creative assets. This includes rights for photos, videos, logos, trademarks, vehicle images, product images, music, text, endorsements, testimonials, names, likenesses, locations, and user-generated content. GoG may request proof of rights and may reject or remove ads if rights are unclear.
11. Endorsements, Testimonials, and Reviews
Endorsements, testimonials, ratings, reviews, awards, and performance claims must be genuine, current, authorized, and not misleading. Material connections, sponsorships, compensation, discounts, free products, or affiliate relationships must be disclosed where required.
12. Vehicle Safety, Fitment, and Legal Compliance
Ads for parts, tuning, modifications, fuels, emissions-related products, lighting, suspension, wheels, tires, braking, safety equipment, or vehicle services must not misrepresent fitment, safety, installation difficulty, legal road use, track-only status, emissions compliance, warranty impact, or required professional installation.
13. Data Collection and Privacy
Advertisers may not collect sensitive personal information through deceptive means or without proper disclosures. Landing pages that collect personal information must include appropriate privacy disclosures and security measures. Ads may not imply knowledge of a user's private traits, financial status, health, legal status, race, religion, sexual orientation, or other sensitive characteristics.
14. Enforcement
Policy violations may result in rejected creative, requested changes, paused campaigns, ended campaigns, account restrictions, forfeiture of refunds, removal of reporting access, or refusal of future advertising. Severe, repeated, deceptive, illegal, unsafe, or rights-infringing conduct may lead to immediate removal without prior notice.
15. Related Terms
Advertising purchases and campaign delivery are also governed by the Advertising Terms, the GetOutGarage Terms of Service, and the GetOutGarage Privacy Policy.
