Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 8, 2026
1. Introduction
Defined Ventures, Inc. ("we," "us," or "GetOutGarage") operates https://getoutgarage.com (the "Site") and the GetOutGarage mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Site, App, and services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Registration: Name, email address, optional avatar.
- Profile & Builds: Car make, model, year, type, parts used; photos you upload; build captions and status.
- Third-Party Login: When you sign in via Google or Facebook, we receive the basic profile info those services provide.
2.2 Automatic & Usage Data
- Tracking & Analytics: We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Facebook Pixel to understand Site usage and improve features.
- Cookies & Local Storage: We set essential cookies (required for Site functionality), preference cookies (to remember settings), and marketing cookies (to serve relevant ads).
- First-Party Ad Measurement: When ad placements appear on GetOutGarage, we may use first-party cookies, local storage, and session storage to create an anonymous visitor ID, session ID, and page-view ID. We use these IDs to measure whether an ad slot was requested, an ad rendered, an ad became viewable, qualified under delivery and frequency rules, or was clicked.
- Location Data: If you enable location services in the App, we may collect your approximate or precise device location to show nearby events and meetups. This is only collected with your explicit consent via device prompts, and you can revoke access at any time through your device settings.
- Approximate Ad Market Location: Our hosting provider may provide country, region, city, postal code, and approximate coordinates derived from your IP address. We use this approximate location to select local ad markets, measure aggregate market inventory, and report campaign delivery. This is not precise device GPS location.
Our first-party ad measurement is used for delivery, reporting, fraud prevention, debugging, and campaign operations. It may include placement key, surface key, route type, approximate city/region/postal market, visitor market key, campaign or creative ID where applicable, anonymous visitor ID, session ID, logged-in user ID when available, timestamp, route path, and related operational metadata. We do not use device fingerprinting for this ad measurement.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide & Improve Services: To authenticate you, display your builds and photos, power notifications, and optimize Site performance.
- Communications: To send you account-related notices, updates, and, with your consent, marketing messages.
- Analytics & Advertising: To measure Site usage, fix bugs, and show you personalized content or ads.
- Ad Delivery & Reporting: To serve house ads or paid ads, validate server-issued deliveries, prevent replay or excessive repetition, measure renders, browser-viewable impressions, qualified billable impressions, and clicks, and provide advertiser-facing delivery reports. Browser identifiers are not represented as verified unique people.
We obtain your consent for data collection where required (e.g., via in-app prompts for location or notifications). You can withdraw consent at any time through App settings, device preferences, or by contacting us.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
- Service Providers: Supabase for data storage; other vendors to send email, host the Site, or process analytics. All third parties are required to provide the same or equivalent level of data protection as stated in this policy.
- Advertiser Reporting: We may provide advertisers with aggregated first-party delivery metrics such as impressions, viewable impressions, clicks, click-through rate, surfaces, slots, markets, and campaign status. We do not provide advertisers with your direct contact information through ad reporting unless you choose to provide it to them.
- Affiliate Networks and Retailers: Some outbound product or retailer links may contain affiliate identifiers. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may receive the link and referral information needed to attribute a visit, purchase, or other qualifying action to GetOutGarage. Those third parties may collect information and use cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights (e.g., in response to a valid subpoena).
- No Lists of Contact Information: We do not sell or rent lists of your direct contact information to third parties for their marketing. Some privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" more broadly; you may contact us to exercise rights that apply to you.
5. User-Generated Content & Moderation
- Ownership: You retain all rights in content you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide license to display and distribute it.
- Moderation Policy: We reserve the right to remove content that is spam, irrelevant, illegal, infringing, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
- DMCA Takedown: If you believe your copyright is infringed, send a notice to info@getoutgarage.com with:
- A description of the copyrighted work.
- A description of the infringing material and its location.
- Your contact information and a statement of good-faith belief.
- Your electronic or physical signature.
6. Data Retention & User Rights
- Retention: We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
- Account Closure & Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and personal data directly within the App (via settings) or by emailing info@getoutgarage.com. We will comply in accordance with applicable law.
- Access & Correction: You can review and update your profile information at any time via your account settings.
7. Children & Age Restrictions
- Minimum Age: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Parental Consent: We do not knowingly collect or maintain information from minors under 18.
8. Security
We employ industry-standard technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit and at rest via Supabase, regular security reviews) to protect your data. No system is completely secure; use strong, unique passwords when provided in future password flows.
9. International Transfers & Compliance
Your data may be transferred to and processed in servers located in the United States. We comply with relevant privacy laws (e.g., CCPA, GDPR where applicable) and offer standard contractual protections for international transfers.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or via a banner on the Site at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
